As you can see from the title, I still don't have a computer.
Infact, the money being sent to me hasn't even gotten here yet.
It's been 5 days since the check was sent(overnited actually), so I'm a bit frustrated.
As it turns out, The mail is actually only overnighted to the University - not the dorm mailboxes. The office lady said that I should wait until atleast tomorrow to call the local post office, so we'll see what happens.
My mail better come tomorrow!!!
But anyway... today I went exploring downtown again. I walked up and down both sides about twice, just checking out what was around. There were a ton of different restuarants, too many really :P It took me forever to decide where to eat at! I ended up picking a small Chinese food place. The food was pretty good, but not the best i've ever had :(
I really want to try out the Japanese restaurant that my Japanese teacher (Denda-sensei) works at. I think I'll go there for dinner sometime this week. If you want to go just let me know!
I know this is pretty random, but I finally found some lightbulbs!!! I didn't find any in the convenience store, none in the bookstore, and I had to walk all the way downtime to find a dollar general which luckily had some. Who would have thought it would be so much trouble to buy a lightbulb?!
Also, I got a new printer! Kinda funny, considering I don't have a computer to use with it... but hey, atleast it's there :p It's super nice, and prints my digital photos (yay!). The photo quality is excellent, much better than when I do it at the kodak instant printing stations. Speaking of photos, I miss posting pictures on here! My posts feel so bland without pics of what I'm talking about :(
I miss my laptop, I hope it comes back soon!!!
Yesterday I took a trip down to D.C. with my mom and brother.
It was pretty much just an opportunity to go do something with them before I move to WVU next month.
The first thing we did was visit the freer and sackler galleries.
That was the main reason I wanted to go down to D.C.
The F&S galleries house large collections of Asian art, which includes screens, pottery, paintings, and furniture amung other things.
The gift shops were awesome, and I grabbed a nice pair of chopsticks, a porcelian sumo wrestler keychain, 2 posters, some postcards, and some regular cards with prints on them.
I figured that I would just stick the postcards and regular cards on the wall instead of sending them, becuase they are too beautiful to part with!
Plus, I don't know anyone else who loves asian art like me...
But anyway! After the museums we took the metro to Chinatown and ate at a restuarant called Wok and Roll.
The food was AWESOME!!!!!
My brother and I got sesame chicken, and it was soooo good.
The fried rice was great too, it had a lot of vegetables and my fav: BEAN SPROUTS!!!!!!! Yummy ^-^
We tried to find an import store, but most of them were gone and are now restaurants.
I found one small one, where I bought a plastic rice bowl and soup spoon for $3.00
All in all, it was a really fun day. I probably won't get another chance to go down there for awhile, so i enjoyed it while I could.
I still wish my dad had gone, but he hates DC so he stayed home.
I'm really going to miss doing these kind of things with my family.
