Merry Christmas!
Can you believe it's already almost over?
We waited for it for so long, and now its all going by so quick...
It always seems that way though.
I must say, this Christmas turned out to be really nice :)
This is probably the first year since I was really young that I didn't know anything that I was getting!
I knew I was getting a new camera, but I didn't know the model.
Besides the camera, I wasn't sure what else to expect.
I was really surprised and happy with all of my gifts :)
I got some really cool stuff that I wanted from Japan, two books, some clothes, a few other really nice things, and best of all: a really cute digital camera!
My mom (and brother) picked out the Canon powershot SD1000.
I love it!!!!!!!
It was actually on my list of cameras that I liked, and I'm so glad that they picked it out :D
Its actually smaller in person than it looks in pictures, but that makes it super cute ^-^
The screen in nice and big, and really bright.
Really, I'm in love it with it!
It is too cute!
My brother got me an itunes giftcard and a the Sims 2 for my pc :)
You won't believe what happened though.
My brother opens up the Sims case for me - and there is no game in it.
The CD is gone!!!
My brother didn't see that when he bought it, someone had sliced the plastic stickers on it with a razor and stole the disk out of it.
He was so pissed!
I felt really bad :(
And I wanted to play it too...
Tomorrow him and my mom are going up to game
stop to chew some people out and get a new game.
I don't think it will work, but it really sucks that he spent the money for nothing :(
I'm finally starting to feel a little better :)
Hopefully, I'll be back to my old self by next Tuesday, which is Christmas, in case you didn't know!
I've been home now for 6 days, and my bags are still all over the floor.
Nothing has been unpacked yet!
It's pretty crazy in my room, there's barley room to walk.
I'll get to it eventually... maybe tomorrow, as long as I'm feeling ok.
I got my final grades today, and I'm trying very hard to be proud of myself.
My GPA for the first semester is a 3.30
I've never been lower than a 3.5 before, and even that was only once.
In high school I only got 3.7's, 3.8's, and 4.0's.
But college is a whole other ball game.
I got 3 A's, 1 B, 1 C+, and a "P" (pass).
Somehow I got an A in History, which I really wasn't expecting! It was a nice surprise :)
I also had an A in Japanese 101 and in Uni 101.
The B was in Anthropology, and while I was hoping for an A... a B is still ok :) That grading scale sucked in that class anyway :P
The C+, is you can't already guess, was in International Relations -_-
I got a 70 on the final, and a B+ on the last paper.
After ALL OF THAT STUDYING... i still only managed a C on the final.
And the lowest C possible at that.
But atleast I didn't fail the class, and I never have to take it again.
Thank God!!!!!!!!!!
International Relations is over!!!!!!! All I can do now is sigh in relief.
So, my first semester in college is now complete.
Overall, It went well, and I learned a lot, with the majority of it being life-skills.
No more finals until May!
I really hope next semester goes well.
I have a larger schedule this time, 16 credits worth.
Hopefully they aren't too difficult, and I can get a better GPA :)
And I hate to say it, but I'm really hoping that the people with an easy schedule first semester get some really hard classes...
sorry, can't help it :p
Christmas is almost here, and it doesn't even feel like it.
It doesn't feel like Christmas!!!!
Sure, the tree is up...
But, none of the presents are wrapped...
I still haven't even bought any presents...
Theres no snow :(...
I dunno, it just hasn't felt like Christmas at all this month.
It makes me sad, and now its all almost over.
But, I am excited for my friends New Years Eve party.
I've never been to one, so it should be fun.
I can't help but be a little sad though that I still don't have anyone to kiss at the first seconds of 2008...
What can I say, I'm a bit of a romantic :) a girl can dream can't she?
Oh my gosh!
I just had one of the funnest experiences of my life!
Today was the lighting of Woodburn Hall on the WVU camupus.
There was music and the president was there to speak to everyone that came.
I found my Japanese tutor and her friend there, so it had fun hanging out with them while we waited until the Hall lit.
They are so small! I'm only 5'1", and they are a few inches shorter than me ^-^ So cute!
This was my first time doing anything like this, and it was cool because it was their first time too.
After the hall lit and most people left, an interviewer from WVU news came up to us and wanted an interview!!!!
How crazy is that?!?!?!?
I was just going to do the interview because they can't speak english all that well, but the people wanted all three of us!
It was so weird, I'm not sure if I did well or not... I don't even know if they'll use the footage :p
I'll have to check back in alittle while...
Kanako and Mari did well, I'm proud of them :D
I love the holidays, and I was happy to be able to spend that time with my friends :)
I'm going to miss them soooo much when they leave!
This Saturday was such a good day for me, one of the best in while actually.
My parents and brother drove up to visit me for the day :)
It was a beautiful day outside, not too cold but not hot either, and the sun was shining with no clouds in sight.
I woke up only 20 minutes before my family arrived, and found out that my hair dried over night into a giant poof -_-
I had pinned it up to get some wavy curls like i've done many times before, only this time when I took all my hair down it was poofed out to the max - and i was not walking out of the dorm looking that that!
So I grabbed a towel, ran into the shower room, and wet my hair down the best i could without getting my clothing soaked.
By the time I was done, my parents had already gotten there, so i had like 2 minutes to dry my hair (or atleast attempt to)
Luckily my hair dried in the car, and looked pretty decent :)
We all went to Walmart, where I stocked up on groceries to last me for at least 2 weeks.
Then, we went to look at the Christmas stuff!
If you didn't already know, I LOVE CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!
It makes me so happy to see all of the decorations :)
They were even playing Christmas music in the store, which I thought seemed a bit too early, but I don't really mind because I love Christmas music too :D
Then we went over to Target :)
They had tons of cute hello kitty stocking stuffers! Yay Hello Kitty!
My brother bought his iPod, and then we all checked out the x-mas stuff they had too.
Target has some very cool Christmas stuff!
My dad actually found a few things he wanted to buy, which was so out of character for him!
In the past, he's never really been into decorating and we basically had to force him to put up lights in the house, and he wasn't big on Christmas music either.
BUT, while we were at target, he found a train that he wants to come back and buy, as well as some new lights.
And, my mom said he wants to buy a new stereo for the Holidays, so we can listen to Christmas music!
She also said he wants me to pick out where the tree goes.
Normally, the tree goes wherever it will be out of the way and easiest to put.
He's definitely changing, and for the better i must add :)
I'm so excited for the break, I really am!
Only 2 more weeks, and I get to go home :)
I've never been this excited for Thanksgiving in my life!
I'm currently sitting outside at Woodburn circle, typing this up.
It's actually quite nice outside, with a cool breeze blowing every now and then.
I'm normally not one to spend a lot of time outside, but because it is much cooler outside than in my dorm room, I'm enjoying the weather.
I honestly cannot wait until the fall weather starts.
I can't even begin to explain how much I hate the heat.
I work up a sweat just walking to and from class - because it's so hot!!!
Then after I get to the room, instead of walking into cool air conditioning like everyone else, I walk into an oven thats hotter than outside.
Thank god for the invention of fans - because even though it's only hot air blowing on me, it makes life a little bit easier.
Is anyone else ready for the holidays?
I am!!!
The other day when I went down to dollar general, I saw that they were starting to put out the halloween stuff :)
To be completely honest, Halloween isn't my fav holiday.
For me, it's basically marking the start of the holiday season, because right after halloween comes thanksgiving, and after that comes Christmas :)
I CANNOT WAIT TO GO HOME!!!!
Speaking of Christmas... That is my absolute favorite holiday!
Not because of gifts, it's because of the atmosphere that Christmas brings on.
Everyone around becomes so happy when Christmas season comes around.
I love seeing all of the decorations, and everything lit up :)
I'm already planning what I'm going to do in the dorm room.
I hope Nikki doesn't mind too much :p
I know I'm putting up my small christmas tree, but I also want to put some xmas lights up somewhere (maybe the window) and also decorate the door.
Oh! Stockings too!!!
Maybe our side of the hall should have a christmas party before everyone leaves for break!
So many things to do, I can't wait :) I'm so excited!!!
Now I want to listen to Christmas music... I think I will :p
I know, I'm crazy.
So many people hate christmas music, but I personally love it.
Hate me or love me, that's who I am!
