I got my final grades for the semester today and I am so proud of myself!
I ended up with 5 A's and 1 C.
I honestly thought I was going to end up with quite a few B's, but what do you know, i pulled it off :)
My grades this semester actually show how hard I worked so I'm really happy.
I'm not happy about the C, but that class was RIDICULOUS so oh well, I tried my best and that's all that matters.
Yay me :)
On another note, I voted last Tuesday!
It was my first time ^__^
I was voter #200. Pretty cool huh?
I ended up messing something up on the ballot and voted for one too many people and the machine beeped so i had to push some button on it.
Embarrassing in itself, but even more so considering a guy I graduated with was standing 3 feet away looking at me while it happened. -_-
I did get a cool sticker though!
There are only 3 weeks left until I get to go home for the summer.
To be exact, I have 22 days.
And let me tell you, I am so ready to go back.
But, before I get to go back, I have a ton of projects to do.
3 of my profs decided that It would be a good idea to assign us projects before finals.
It's just my luck that they are all due the same week, two of which are due on the same day.
It's pretty overwhelming.
Not only do I have those projects, but I also have a Japanese test to take next week, and take-home final project due may 1, and big finals to study for.
I will be very relieved when this is all over and done with.
I'm not sure how I did this semester, hopefully alright.
I know I have a C in Geog, but for the rest I have no idea.
I just want at least a 3.3 like last semester. I can only hope I did better than that though.
In case you haven't heard, The West Virginia Mountaineers won this years Fiesta Bowl against OU.
Let's go Mountaineers!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm so proud of the boys ^-^
It was such a great game to watch, I wish I would have been there.
Also, I just found out that the interim coach Bill Stewart was hired as the new Head Coach.
I'm not sure if that was a good choice or not, but we'll just have to see.
If that bowl game is any indication on how he coaches, then I think we are in good hands.
I'm definitely proud to be a Mountaineer today.
There are quite a few things about living and being at college that I've come to be annoyed by, be disgusted by, or just hate. So, here's a list of a few of those things and some interesting stuff I've observed:
- People will come to the library just to talk, and will sit by the person who is obviously trying to get some work done
- When you are in the lounge of your dorm trying to study, people will come in and talk loudly on their cell phones for 30 minutes, even though they obviously see you trying to study
- Some people think that 1am is a perfect time to write that paper that's dues at 8:30am the same day
- Some people think that you can clean your clothes by throwing them in the dryer and febreezing them - no wash needed!
- There is always someone blasting their TV or radio
- The showers are teeny tiny
- The bathroom stalls are teeny tiny
- When someone flushes, you get burned in the shower
- You also get burned at the sink
- It is usually hotter in my dorm room than it is outside
- I have no A/C
- The people in the room above me stay up way past 12am, and are always moving their chair
- They are either 300 pounds, constantly do jumping jacks, or find jumping off the bed fun, because it ALWAYS sounds like they are pounding on their floor!!!!
- They do this after 12am also
- Girls have a habit of leaving used tampons in the shower
- They also leave them in the bathroom stalls
- They also throw away used pads in the trashcan without wrapping them up (gross)- nobody wants to see this!!!!
- There is always an unflushed toilet
- Way too many girls do not wash their hands after using the bathroom
- Taking out the trash is too troublesome
- Living on a hill sucks
- Living on a hill when there is a downpour sucks even worse
- 8:30 classes are way too early
- I always get stuck next to the girl who texts all throughout class
- I always get stuck behind the girl who moves her head constantly in class, so you never see the professor
- Those desks from the 80's are sooooo uncomfortable
- There is always someone who talks way too much around you
- They always have an annoying voice
Well, that's all I have! I'm sure there will be more later!
Also, my Japanese tutor Kataie-san gave me some Japanese chocolate today! It's yummy!
so, yeah...
I'm 98% sure that failed my International Relations exam today
It's so frustrating, because I studied so much for it, and then when the test came I was so confused.
I spent 8 hours between 2 days trying to memorize different IR theories, lists, goals, values, etc.
The test had 15 multi-choice, 10 T/F, and 4 essays
I'm not confident in my answers for the multi-choice, i knew some of the T/F, and then on the essays I could only remember parts of the answers.
It was so hard! Everything was on the tip of my tongue and I was trying so hard to remember.
I kept getting some of the lists I memorized mixed up.
Overall, I'm really frustrated with myself :(
I really studied for this test, and my score is going to make it look like I never even picked up the book...
sigh...
Well, at least I have something to cheer me up tomorrow!
My parents and brother are coming for a visit :)
I really miss them, so I'm glad I get to see them. Plus, I get to leave campus for a while and shop!
Also, I was playing with my hair today, and I found a way to make a cute ponytail :p
I really need a self-esteem boost, so tomorrow I'll try my best to look extra cute!
Not that it's going to help me in the guy department, but I might get a few glances ^-^
Attention is always nice :D
To sum it up:
~ I have trash overflowing
~ A hamper full of laundry
~ My sheets need to be changed
~ My desk is a mess
~ I have stuff EVERYWHERE
And to be completely honest, I'm just too lazy to clean any of it!!!!
I'll start to think about it, and then tell myself I'll do it later
I procrastinate way too much -_-
But doesn't every other college student?
I had my 2nd history exam today, and I think I did good on this one
I actually knew most of the material this time!
The professor gave a MUCH better study guide, so I'm pretty confident that I did well on the exam :)
I have an International Relations exam Friday, and I need to do some major studying for that one
Theories just aren't my thing :(
I'm currently sitting outside at Woodburn circle, typing this up.
It's actually quite nice outside, with a cool breeze blowing every now and then.
I'm normally not one to spend a lot of time outside, but because it is much cooler outside than in my dorm room, I'm enjoying the weather.
I honestly cannot wait until the fall weather starts.
I can't even begin to explain how much I hate the heat.
I work up a sweat just walking to and from class - because it's so hot!!!
Then after I get to the room, instead of walking into cool air conditioning like everyone else, I walk into an oven thats hotter than outside.
Thank god for the invention of fans - because even though it's only hot air blowing on me, it makes life a little bit easier.
Is anyone else ready for the holidays?
I am!!!
The other day when I went down to dollar general, I saw that they were starting to put out the halloween stuff :)
To be completely honest, Halloween isn't my fav holiday.
For me, it's basically marking the start of the holiday season, because right after halloween comes thanksgiving, and after that comes Christmas :)
I CANNOT WAIT TO GO HOME!!!!
Speaking of Christmas... That is my absolute favorite holiday!
Not because of gifts, it's because of the atmosphere that Christmas brings on.
Everyone around becomes so happy when Christmas season comes around.
I love seeing all of the decorations, and everything lit up :)
I'm already planning what I'm going to do in the dorm room.
I hope Nikki doesn't mind too much :p
I know I'm putting up my small christmas tree, but I also want to put some xmas lights up somewhere (maybe the window) and also decorate the door.
Oh! Stockings too!!!
Maybe our side of the hall should have a christmas party before everyone leaves for break!
So many things to do, I can't wait :) I'm so excited!!!
Now I want to listen to Christmas music... I think I will :p
I know, I'm crazy.
So many people hate christmas music, but I personally love it.
Hate me or love me, that's who I am!
Ok, did anyone else know that there is another college football team called the Mountaineers?!
I was looking on Yahoo just a minute ago, and there was a big article on how they were being consider for some big list ( forgive my lack of football knowledge).
At first, I was confused. The team had went against a Michigan team ( like our wvu mountaineers did last weekend) and won. So I was wondering if the article was talking about us...but, it said they were from Appalachian State U in North Carolina.
Who knew? I sure didn't.
here's a link to the article:

Thankfully, Thursday is done.
My classes are over for the day, I just finished my tutor session, and now all I have left to do is eat a little later.
Wait, nevermind, I still have a ton of stuff to do!!!
1. Complete my Japanese homework "quiz"
2. Do some laundry (because I'm basically out of shirts & jeans)
3. Start on my IR paper
4. Research Uni 101 assignment
5. Complete journal entry for Uni 101
6. Read chapters for history and anthropology
Thank god most of this is due sometime next week, and not tomorrow.
I DO need to do my Japanese work for tomorrow, so thats the only "must do" thing on the list.
Tomorrow my IR class is cancelled, so I only have one class for the day :) Yay me!
I plan to go my 8:30 class, come back @ 9:30, and then sleep in until I wake up (whenever that may be)
Sounds like a plan right?
I actually enjoyed my anthropology class today.
My professor talked about how human get the skin color they have, and why they have it.
It's very interesting!
Also, my Japanese tutor session went well.
I love learning Japanese! It's tough, but I'm starting to get the hang of it :)
I've run out of things to write about, so I'll be back when I think of something!
Right now, at this very moment, Dashboard Confessional is playing right across from my dorm!!!!!!
I know I wrote that I didn't like them, but take it back, because they are actually pretty good ^-^
If I go to the lounge windows I can see them on the stage. I must say that I lucked out on my dorm :)
Earlier was probably the craziest time of my life.
I watched Josh Gracin play his two or three songs, but it started pouring so they postponed the rest of the concert.
I went back the dorm and took a shower and changed my wet clothes, then went back over to the stage area when it stopped raining.
Rooney played a few songs, they were good!
Then I waited out in the crowd for over 30 minutes for Common to come on.
During that time, it seemed like everyone was trying to get as close as possible to the stage.
People where squeezing through the crowd and there was no room to move over.
It was CRAZY!!!!
I ended up surrounded by a bunch of guys, 2 of them Drunk as hell and still drinking beer. Then there was a girl to my right who was driving me insane because she kept hitting my bag!!!
I've never smelled so much smoke and beer breath in my life!
By the time Common came on stage, I couldn't even see him because of all the tall guys in front of me.
I think I caught about 5 glimpses of him, but either way, he was great :)
Half way through his set it started to rain, and then POUR.
I was totally soaked by the time he was done, and this time came back to the dorm for good.
So now, my lungs are burning from all the smoke, while I'm lying in bed , typing this, listening to Dashboard Confessional outside my window.
Wow, this is college.
