I had some coupons to use up so I decided to pick up these few things while I was out at the store yesterday.
I snagged 2 MaxFactor MAXeye shadows in Cocoa Crazy and Vintage Vixen (they were buy one get one free), Rimmel Extra Super Lash mascara, and Rimmels eye-makeup remover.
I've heard a lot of mixed reviews for this one and from what I had heard, you either loved it or hated it. I'm one of those people that love it. It does a really good job of separating my lashes and coating them evenly. There wasn't any clumping or flaking, so I'm happy with it.
I've been needing some of this forever! I've been making due with just my ponds face cream and some cosmetic wipes from EDM. Needless to say, they don't work so well when trying to remove mascara and such. This remover is very gentle, just like the bottle claims. It didn't irritate my eyes at all and removed everything with just a few swipes. I recommend it :)
So, today I got my package from Everyday Minerals that I ordered!
It actually got here pretty quick, I'm happy :)
I ordered quite a few things, and even got some free gifts too.
I decided to do an un-boxing post ( because I like them).
I think this will be a good reference post for people who are unsure about the item sizes.
I know I didn't really know how big anything was when I ordered, so hopefully you might get some useful info from this.
The packing material to protect everything looks like little worms you make in kindergarten :P
If you ordered over $25 before April 24th, you got a free pressed blush and finishing powder. That's a great deal!
The brown cap is a small sized eyeshadow, while lilac caps are considered a small finishing powder and a small sized blush (2.5g).
The Oasis eyeshadow is very sparkley. I'd say its a light brown color; very pretty. The small size was $2.50.
The Star to Finish Fair was one of the free gifts. I think it's a little too light for me to use.
The Plum Dust blush is really nice. It's a pinky - mauvey color that works well with my skin tone (i'm Fair-Medium). The 2.5g size was $4.00.
This was the other free gift I received. It's a full sized pressed blush. I love the case! It's like a recycled cardboard lacquer thing ( I don't know how to describe it better than that :p)
The All Smiles pressed blush is a very light pink, even a little peachy like a light coral color. It's pretty, but I haven't tried it with foundation on ( I sampled it on my hand) so I don't know how this will look on my face. I like it though! This product isn't for sale on the website yet so I don't know the price.
This is the large sized foundation and retails for $12.00.
These are the cosmetic wet wipes. They only cost $3.75 and you get 80 of them. They smell nice and are organic, which is a big plus.
This is a great brush!!! It's the eyeshadow brush, which costs $5.00. I've been looking everywhere for a good quality brush and this is definitely one. It's also great for applying the powder eyeliner.
Overall It cost me $27 for the products and $5 for shipping, which is great for cosmetics. Hopefully you got an idea of how big all the products are and maybe you'll go order some for yourself. v(^__^)v
So, for quite a while now I've been searching for the perfect foundation.
I've tried powder foundation, semi-liquid foundation, and even liquid foundation - and none of them ever worked how I wanted them to.
But FINALLY, I have found it!
My perfect foundation!
It all started from a recommendation by Bubblesung at LJ.
She was the one that told me about Everyday Minerals, so I decided to give them a try.
They actually offer a free sample kit, which includes 3 foundation shades of your choice, one blush, and one concealer.
The guide on the website for choosing the foundations was really helpful and I actually ended up finding my perfect match! Yes!!!
I also ended up ordering a mineral eyeliner and a baby kabuki brush (which is on back order but will hopefully arrive soon).
The sample kit was free like it said, you only have to pay the shipping (like $4.00), the eyeliner was $2.50, and the brush was $6.00.
Overall, the prices are great.
But anyway, onto the makeup!
Like the brand name suggests, this is mineral makeup.
I've always wanted to try some, but it's always been so expensive so I never bothered.
The first time I put one of the foundations on, I was amazed.
It gave me coverage and evened out my skin without making it look like I was wearing any makeup!
My shade is Fair Medium, and it works great.
The blush I got its called B&B and its a bit orangey for me, but it doesn't look bad.
I actually mixed some of the foundation with it to lighten it up and it looks good :)
I really like the eyeliner as well.
Using as a powder or liquid is easy and the results are nice.
I haven't tried the concealer yet, but I will Monday when I get ready before class.
No use in wasting it when I'm not going anywhere Sunday :P
I will definitely be purchasing some more products from them soon.
I'm so happy to have found a foundation that works for me!
I really recommend them, 100%!

Lately I've been noticing that the pores on my nose were enlarged and were filled with "dirt."
Along with that, I had a small break-out around my chin.
So, when I went shopping for dorm supplies yesterday, I picked up some Biore nose strips, Biore pore minimizing foam, Ponds exfoliating wipes, and some Clearasil Pore cleaning pads.
I've never really had a daily cleaning routine for my face before. I usually only used some facial pads when I saw some pimples forming, and that usually made them disappear.
But, as I've gotten older, I've realized that I need to take care of my skin ( especially if I ever plan on getting a date :p)
I started out with the nose strip, which had me wet my nose, place the strip on, and wait about 10 minutes until it hardened like plaster. Once it was hard, I peeled it of ( which hurt a tiny bit) and saw some of the gunk that was stuck in my pores. Yuck! But I must admit it was neat to see ;p
After that I used an exfoliating wipe. They can also be used as make up removers, which is pretty convenient. It felt cool and refreshing on my skin, and I definitely recommend them!
Next came the pore minimizing scrub. You squeeze a small amount onto your hand and lather it until it gets slightly foamy. Then you apply it all over your face, and rinse with warm water, then cold water. I've heard that the cold water closes the pores, but I really couldn't tell.
Lastly came the pore pads. Oh my, did they sting! I guess sometimes you have to take some pain for beauty.
I'm not sure If I did everything correctly, or in the right order for that matter.
My face does feel nice a smooth though!
Hopefully I see some results soon, and fewer pimples.
Maintaining a beautiful face can be time consuming, but it's worth it in the long run.
So, while I was at the store, I saw a nice two-pack of the new fruit spritzers from Covergirl.
I picked out the Papaya/Guava Splash set, mainly because the other shades seemed either too bright or too brown.
The papaya is an orangey-pink color while the guava is a light pink.
Sadly, these colors are MUCH brighter in the tubes.
When I put both on, I could barely see any type of color tint :(
There were very shiney and sparkley though!
The papaya doesn't have a specific fruit scent, more of a fruit punch.
The guava had a watermelon-like scent.
I definitely prefer the papaya over the guava, based solely on the smell.
I would really like to try some of the other glosses, especially the strawberry.
Now that I know there is barely any tint in the gloss, I'm more confident that the strawberry wouldn't be too bright for me and it would be a great scent!
I love strawberries!
I also picked up a rimmel eyeshadow single in the shade Iris, along with a bargain brand single in a soft pink.
I must say... the bargain brand color was a little more intense (brighter/stands out) than the rimmel color!
I had a rimmel quad already and the colors in it were a little sheer, but i was hoping since I got a bright purple color, it would show up a little brighter on the skin.
But it didn't... but thats actually ok.
I think it will still look nice on my skin, so I don't regret the purchase.
Happy cosmetic shopping!
My Memoirs of a Geisha face palette just came in the mail! Woo!
It's so cute ^-^ hehe
It has a pretty pink highlighting color (which im now sure how to use...), a soft pink blush which is really nice, and a pretty red gloss that nice a sheer, but has enough color to show on the lips.
I'm very happy with it, probably the best $10 i've spent all month!
Retail was $38.00, which is insane... so I got it for 10 on ebay.
Man I love ebay!
This is my favorite cosmetic I have ( until my toki lipgloss comes :p )
Who know what i do when it runs out, since they stopped making the palette and the individuals of everything are $24 each.
Too much money!!!!
